COME KICK IT WITH KUYA IN K-TOWN, LA!
From this night I just shot a bunch of random stuff with my new Vuze XR camera. I didn’t really aim to make a proper vlog or anything, I was just shooting so I can learn how to use the camera itself. SO, here I just stitched together a few moments from the night to try to piece together a cohesive chronological set of events.

The following was written on 8/30/23, well over a year from when this video was first published.
My first ever VR vlog. For as unimpressive as this vlog might be, I remember that I had done maybe half a dozen test shoots in preparation for it. It took a lot of research just to produce something mid, I know… But I remember taking a measuring tape and recording myself measuring distance from camera to see the stereoscopic effects on scale and perspective. I remember walking around the neighborhood seeing how camera-motion works (and getting sick from watching it). I even took my camera with me to gatherings and would annoy my fam and friends by practicing my VR camera-work on them.
Finally, after a month of test shoots, I was ready to take my camera on a night out. Me and the wifey scooped up her sister and my homie Seth, and I drove us to a karaoke bar in ktown where Seth’s brother, Gabe (aka Localcolor) was bartending at.
The funny thing about not knowing the rules is that you stumble into a lot of interesting ideas. Without knowing how a tripod, monopod, or even an additional pocket light would’ve helped my capture, I was more daring with camera placement, movement, and when/where I’d record. I didn’t know how absolute dog-shit the Vuze XR was in low-light, so I captured whatever I thought was interesting regardless of the lighting. I didn’t think to have a sidebag full of camera gear, so I just kept my Vuze XR in my pokcet and was able to sneak it in where I wasn’t supposed to. All types of happy little accidents that revealed rules of thumb that I’d adhere to later.
Hope yall enjoyed my super short and humble beginning of a vr-vlog. Thanks for watching and stay immersed.
